FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA. – This week, JT Wu, a Gwinnett native, educational nonprofit executive, and business leader, running as a Democrat for Georgia's newly redrawn House District 97, announced a heavyweight addition to his growing list of endorsements from elected officials and community leaders: Georgia's most recent Democratic Governor and respected party leader, Roy E. Barnes.

Governor Barnes said, "Today, I’m happy to announce my endorsement for JT Wu and his forward-looking campaign for State House. Having served in the State House myself, I know what it takes to successfully run as a Democrat and deliver results for your community. JT’s proven record of local leadership and his experience as an education non-profit founder and healthcare executive demonstrates that he has what it takes to get things done on behalf of Gwinnett. I look forward to seeing how this passionate leader continues to serve his hometown community and the entire state of Georgia."

JT Wu thanked the Governor for his support in prepared remarks, saying, "It's an incredible honor to have earned the support of Governor Barnes for our campaign for Georgia's next generation. From the General Assembly to the Governor's mansion and through his continued legal service to the Peach State, Governor Barnes has tirelessly fought for a stronger and more inclusive Georgia for all. As a titan of Georgia politics and a true profile in courage, his resolute leadership and stewardship of our state through tumultuous times has continued to be an inspiration to me. I look forward to continuing his fight to deliver progress, opportunity, and hope for every Georgian."

Governor Barnes's endorsement is the latest show of momentum and support for Wu's campaign from both elected officials and community leaders across Gwinnett County and the state of Georgia. Wu has already been endorsed by a broad coalition of educational, business, and community stalwarts representing the diversity of District 97, including numerous nonprofit and business leaders, the Chairman of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Chairwoman of the Asian American Action Fund's Georgia Chapter.

The newly drawn District 97, created after federally mandated redistricting, includes Wu's hometown of Duluth, his current home city of Norcross, and the vibrant communities of Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake.
