JT Wu Endorsed by US Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux & Community Leaders, Qualifies for Democratic Primary

Sitting Democratic Congresswoman for Gwinnett County leads growing list of community supporters endorsing JT Wu's positive vision and people-powered campaign for the Georgia State House (District 97).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA. – Earlier this week, Jonathan "JT" Wu, a Gwinnett native, educational nonprofit executive, and business leader, officially qualified for the Democratic primary in Georgia's newly redrawn House District 97, while simultaneously announcing a diverse first round of endorsements from elected officials and respected community leaders, including US Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux (D-GA).

Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux said, "I am so pleased to endorse JT Wu to be our next State Representative for Peachtree Corners, historic Norcross, Berkeley Lake, and Duluth. Over the last several years, I have watched JT serve as a real leader for our local communities, particularly on education access. I have no doubt he will be a champion for Gwinnett if elected to the State House."

JT Wu thanked the Congresswoman for her support in prepared remarks, saying, "Congresswoman Bourdeaux has been an incredible leader for all of our communities here in Gwinnett County - and especially for the vibrant cities in District 97. As a tireless fighter, a dedicated policy expert, and an accessible advocate for common-sense solutions and real results, Congresswoman Bourdeaux has stood up for policies that will improve lives across the Peach State. She's championed economic recovery for our small businesses and led the way on healthcare access, early literacy investments, and universal pre-K for every Georgia child."

"Georgia's kids have no fiercer advocate for their future on Capitol Hill," Wu continued, "I'm honored to have her support, and I look forward to continuing to fight alongside her to deliver on our shared positive visions for Georgia's next generation."

Congresswoman Bourdeaux's endorsement is the latest show of momentum and support for Wu's campaign from both elected officials and community leaders across Gwinnett County. Wu has already been endorsed by a broad coalition of educational, business, and community stalwarts representing the diversity of District 97, including numerous nonprofit and business leaders, the Chairman of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Chairwoman of the Asian American Action Fund's Georgia Chapter.

Wu's campaign further noted that, together with Gwinnett County Commissioner Ben Ku's previously reported endorsement, Wu has now earned the support of both the duly elected Congressperson and the Gwinnett County Commissioner elected to represent District 97.

The newly drawn District 97, created after federally mandated redistricting, includes Wu's hometown of Duluth, his current home city of Norcross, and the vibrant communities of Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake.
