Hey y'all -
It's JT. I just wanted to write a quick note to wrap up this campaign and say thank you.
When the results came in and the lights went down on Election Night, we came up just short of victory in this race.
Nevertheless, I remain so proud and grateful for the positive campaign and vision that we've built together here for Georgia.
For nearly half a year now, we’ve all worked together to try and solve real, complex issues in our community. And that's all thanks to your support. We left it all on the field, and I remain filled with hope for our future.
I ran for this seat because this was one way that I believed I could continue to give back to this community and this state that I love.
From increasing early literacy investments to expanding healthcare access to investing in economic opportunity and securing our fundamental rights, we’ve fought to advance a positive vision for Georgia: A vision grounded in our shared values of Opportunity, Community, and Progress - that would make our state an even better place to live, to work, and to play - not just for ourselves but also for our next generation.
And in this new South, this new America, that we’re seeking to build together, we have to ensure that every young child knows that America still has a place for them: and that no matter what they look like, where they live, or what language they speak, that this country must remain one of opportunity, one where a positive conversation on ideas is always welcomed, where diversity is respected, and where our national currency will always be dreams, and possibility, and hope.
As all of us know, this campaign was never just about me, or one thing, or one idea.
Our movement is larger than that.
And while this campaign has come to an end, I know that the hope that we inspired, the values that we fought for, and our cause of defending the American Dream for the next generation - they will endure.
And I know that, together, our best days are still ahead of us; because, in the spirit of those immortal words: in our never-ending pursuit of a brighter future, and on behalf of all those who have placed their faith in our cause - our work continues, our fight goes on, our hope endures, and the American Dream will never die.
